Faith Leaders Border Forum
in McAllen, Texas
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has recently stated that we are witnessing "the greatest displacement of people since World War II." We are on track to surpass 2 million illegal apprehensions in 2023.
This forum is an opportunity to hear first-hand from the U.S. Border Patrol, local and state law enforcement agencies, and local and state government officials. You will tour the border, visit the border wall, travel to the Rio Grande River, visit an Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) site housing unaccompanied minors, and hear from local ranchers.
With this unprecedented migration crossing our border, you will walk away with a greater understanding of the severity on our border and the extraordinary ministry opportunities that are before us as faith leaders. You will be boots on the ground experiencing first-hand the challenges that face border patrol, Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), and the local community. You will have an opportunity to be informed about how the massive flow of drugs, especially fentanyl, is being smuggled into the United States from our southern border and possible solutions to combat it.

Itinerary
Day 1
Thursday, March 30th:
Airport for arrival is McAllen International Airport (MFE) in McAllen, Texas. Arrive in McAllen, TX for a 6:00 PM Dinner (hosted by National Faith Advisory Board) and Round Table discussions with USBP, local and state government officials and many more.
Day 2
Friday, March 31st:
Tour of border wall, tour of Rio Grande river, meetings with Border Patrol, local and state law enforcement, Texas Department of Public Safety, local and state government officials, local ranchers, and tour of an ORR housing center. Evening dinner hosted by National Faith Advisory Board. Last meeting will end at 1:30PM in order to get to McAllen airport for flight departures
